Origins

I was born in Spain and has been playing the clarinet since 1985 mostly in classical music settings. I live in Berlin since 2012. In 2014 I embarked in a new journey rediscovering the tenor saxophone, which I had played for a brief period in my late teens. The goal now is to learn the jazz language and enrich my musicality through this new open door.

As a classical clarinetist, I have played with symphony orchestras such as the Bilbao Symphony, the Basque Country Symphony, the American Opera and Theather Orchestra and many others both in Europe and the US. I have also performed numerous times in chamber music and contemporary music settings such as the Janus Ensemble in Chicago, the Neue Musik Institut in Germany and the Calumet Chamber Musicians in the greater Chicago area, with which I have enjoyed a long and fruitful collaboration.

Looking into the future, the exploration goes on. By putting together my classical music background and the newly learned jazz language, the clarinet and the saxophone, as well as my influences from other music and art forms, my music-making aims to be unexpected, surprising and honest.
